Product overview

What is CKB / Coated Kraft Back Board?

CKB combines a coated white printing face with an unbleached kraft reverse. Its layered fibre structure and hard sizing support demanding carton applications; select the exact grade for the required stiffness and converting performance.

Compared with a white-back coated board, CKB gives buyers a visibly different kraft reverse and a strong fibre structure. For food and beverage projects, the purchasing decision should consider grammage, caliper, stiffness, wet / cold-storage exposure, printing and converting route together rather than choosing by GSM alone.

Material highlights

  • Triple-coated white top supports high-quality graphics, branding and retail presentation.
  • Unbleached kraft reverse provides a natural kraft appearance and strong structural backing.
  • Hard sizing supports beverage, frozen-food and cold-storage carton applications.
  • High stiffness, folding endurance and compression performance suit demanding carton structures.
  • Wide 200–350 gsm documented series allows selection by box size, product weight and converting requirement.

Typical applications

  • Food and consumer packaging cartons

Practical questions

Before you specify.

What is CKB board?

CKB is coated kraft back board: a coated white printing face combined with a strong kraft reverse.

What GSM is documented?

The TDS covers 200, 235, 245, 255, 280, 300, 325 and 350 gsm.

Why is CKB used for frozen or cold-storage cartons?

The grade uses hard sizing and a high-stiffness structure intended for demanding cold-storage and food-packaging applications.

Is CKB the same as FBB?

No. Both are folding-carton boards, but CKB is defined by its coated white top and natural kraft reverse; grade structure and end-use selection differ.

Can YOUNGSUN provide sheets and reels?

Sheet, reel and custom-size supply can be discussed according to grade and order requirements.
