Product overview
What is Glassine Paper?
Glassine is a highly densified, supercalendered paper with a smooth, compact surface. It is used as a base for release-liner coating and precision converting.
White technical grades cover 30–120 gsm. Blue grades are documented at 50 and 58 gsm; yellow is documented at 58 gsm. Select the grade and any subsequent coating against the intended release or process conditions.
Material direction
Specify the sheet through the printed result.
Balance whiteness, opacity, surface and runnability against the printing and finishing route.Material highlights
- Choose GSM and colour according to release-liner, labelstock or industrial converting requirement.
- Surface smoothness and density are critical for consistent silicone coverage and clean die cutting.
- Transparency varies by GSM; do not select by transparency alone when release-liner performance is the main requirement.
- Confirm reel width, diameter/core, winding and silicone-coating process for converting programs.
Typical applications
- Packaging, liners, specialty converting subject to grade
